Hi there!

Iā€™m Lydia Ruth Dawson, a professional performing artist from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am the oldest of five wonderful, rambunctious siblings whom I dearly love, and the daughter of two professional parents who equally support and worry about the stability of my theatrical pursuits.

After graduating from Hope College in quaint Holland, Michigan with degrees in Musical Theater and English Literature, I unexpectedly fell in love with a charming academic, poet, baseball player named Eric. Our romance was fast and furious, and the following summer, we were married. After two months of hiking El Camino De Santiago (a 550 mile pilgrimage through France and Spain) and a subsequent adventure that involved Athens, Rome, Prague, Paris, and London, we settled in New York City.

These days you can find me prancing in the park with my beloved dog, Ruby, dancing around town, and singing in the shower. My goal is to make good art with good people. And I work best in collaborative settings that are committed to excellence. I love traveling and enjoy reading, hiking, indoor cycling, yoga, and finding ways to sneak kale into as many meals as possible.
